Sodexo at North Devon District Hospital, Barnstaple, EX31 4JB are seeking a motivated Retail Team Leader to oversee the daily operations of our retail outlets, ensuring a welcoming, hygienic, and pleasant experience for staff, patients, and visitors. What you’ll do:

  • Compliance and Safety Management:
    Ensure adherence to food safety and health & safety legislation, company and client policies, and all compliance requirements including PPDS, allergens, calories, and menu planning. Maintain records for temperatures, HACCP, and safety protocols.
  • Operational Oversight and Quality Control:
    Oversee food production quality, portion control, and specifications. Monitor stock levels, manage stock security and rotation, and ensure cleaning schedules and equipment maintenance are completed to the required standards.
  • Team Management and Development:
    Compile duty rotas, allocate tasks, and manage HR responsibilities such as sickness monitoring, return-to-work interviews, and training. Conduct team huddles, performance reviews, and promote staff engagement.
  • Financial Accountability:
    Manage the handling and security of cash in line with company procedures, investigate shortfalls, and ensure all financial processes are correctly documented.
  • Customer Service and Client Relations:
    Act as the first line of contact for client inquiries, uphold high standards of customer care, and support staff training in delivering excellent customer service.

  • Willingness to undertake training as required and maintain high standards of personal hygiene.
  • Relevant Experience and Qualifications.
  • Barista experience and possession of a Level 3 Supervisor Food Safety Certificate.
  • Attention to Service Excellence.
  • Demonstrate the ability to meet service requirements while upholding professionalism and quality.
  • NVQ Level 3 Hospitality & Catering.
