This is an exciting opportunity to join The Tank Museum’s Archive as a Registrar. The Archive is the UK’s foremost research centre on the subject of armoured warfare, holding documents, photographs, technical drawings, maps, moving images, books, and journals directly related to the Royal Armed Corps and particularly the Royal Tank Regiment.
The Registrar role sits within the Archive & Supporting Collections team but supports all three collections: Archive, Supporting Collection, and Vehicles. The Registrar is a vital role that administrates all collection documentation and manages the procedures relating to acquisitions, disposals, and loans. As a Registrar, you will connect all parts of The Tank Museum’s collection and work closely with both the Vehicle Collection Team and the Archive & Supporting Collections Team. The Registrar is the face of our museum when accepting donations and interacts with a wide variety of visitors and partner organisations to arrange donations, disposals, and loans.
The role would suit a highly organised person who is keen to take ownership of our collection documentation, has experience with museum documentation, and is ready to make this job their own.
