About the Role:

As a Python Developer, you will be responsible for accelerating the creation of our core product suite, automating repetitive tasks, and enabling accountants to focus on high-value work. This position provides a chance to work on a wide range of technologies, including frontend interfaces, backend API layers, and analytics/data processing engines. You will lead projects independently, mentor junior developers, and solve complex challenges related to data and presentation in accountancy.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with a small team of developers on daily code reviews and merge requests
2. Develop across the entire product stack, including frontend, backend, and analytics/data processing engine
3. Lead projects independently, from requirements gathering through to deployment
4. Mentor junior developers to support their technical growth
5. Solve complex challenges related to data and presentation in accountancy

Essential Skills & Expertise:

1. At least 3 years of experience as a full-stack developer, delivering robust production-ready solutions
2. Proficiency in Python, Django, JavaScript, React, Next.js, and Git
3. Comfortable working with Python and JavaScript professionally, with experience in Django and React
4. Ability to build data-intensive applications and manage complex backend logic, including external API integrations
5. Experience in creating responsive user interfaces that function across browsers and mobile devices
6. Capable of working independently and taking ownership of technical projects
7. Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
8. Effective time management and prioritisation skills under tight deadlines
