In this pivotal role, the Purchasing Demand Planner will be responsible for analysing sales data and market trends to forecast demand accurately, ensuring optimal stock levels through strategic supplier ordering, and managing essential procurement administrative tasks. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the balance between inventory availability and operational efficiency, reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse sales data, market trends, and historical patterns to forecast demand and determine appropriate stock levels.
• Place purchase orders with suppliers to maintain optimal inventory levels and minimize stockouts or overstock situations.
• Monitor and review supplier order confirmations, ensuring accuracy in pricing, quantities, and delivery timelines.
• Review and process invoices, shipping documents, and other procurement-related administrative tasks.
• Track and manage supplier performance, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to agreed terms.
• Work closely with internal teams such as sales, warehouse, and finance to align inventory planning with business needs.
• Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks that could impact stock availability.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to optimise pricing, lead times, and service quality.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in procurement and inventory management.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in demand planning, purchasing, supply chain, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and forecasting tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and our internal ERP system.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills to build relationships with suppliers.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work under deadlines.
• Knowledge of supply chain principles and procurement best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in supply chain management, preferably in the home improvement sector.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with global sourcing and logistics processes.
