Our client is a very busy council in Hertfordshire who are seeking a Planning Consultant to work on major strategic developments with a number of their partners. The role will involve carrying out a full range of development management functions and assisting the Team Leader to manage a heavy caseload.

Our clients current projects range in scale from a reserved matters application for 95 units to an outline scheme for 4,000 units. Some proposals are emerging site allocations, whilst others are speculative. Proposed developments may be outline or reserved matters. The team generally operates using Planning Performance Agreements, although applications are sometimes submitted outside of that framework. Most commonly, PPAs commence at pre app stage and often run through the application stage as well. The Council is looking for a proactive individual, capable of working under minimal supervision, with a strong track record of delivering planning decisions which secure high quality development at a large or strategic scale.

Applicants must be qualified Town Planners with demonstrable experience of dealing with large scale proposals, appeals and enforcement. You will have given evidence at appeals, have project management experience. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years' experience and will be working on major developments and have Housing Delivery experience.

This is a contract position which will initially be offered as a 6 month contract and the rate offered will depend on your experience but is expected to be £72/hr Umbrella. This role is inside IR35.
