Our client is looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator ideally with some bookkeeping experience to join their expanding accountancy practice as part of their outsource team.

You will be working on a portfolio of payroll and bookkeeping clients alongside other members of our friendly team.

Based in our modern offices at Thorpe Park, Leeds with great transport links and onsite parking. The position is full-time.

Payroll duties will include:

  1. Collecting payroll information from clients and entering data into payroll software
  2. Calculating wages, commissions, benefits and deductions
  3. Maintaining accurate payroll records
  4. Preparing and distributing payslips
  5. Responsible for RTI submissions
  6. Responding to payroll queries
  7. Ensuring that clients are aware of their NI and PAYE liabilities
  8. Assisting with CIS return submissions

Bookkeeping duties will include:

  1. Data entry on accounting software (Sage, Quickbooks, Xero etc)
  2. Maintaining client records and producing reports
  3. Assisting in the preparation and timely submission of VAT returns
  4. Assisting with the preparation of month end and year end accounts and related reporting required

Skills required:

  1. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a payroll position and have a full understanding of the payroll process
  2. Bookkeeping experience advantageous but not essential as training can be provided
  3. Proficient in Sage payroll essential and experience of other online payroll and bookkeeping software would be beneficial
  4. Excellent communication and organisational skills
  5. Able to manage own workload and meet deadlines
