Job description

Vacancy: Payroll Administrator

The Payroll Administrator sits within the Global Business Services Hire 2 Retire team. The role involves working closely with various stakeholders and service providers, both internal and external, influencing the GBS system and data strategies. It requires a flexible approach to a variety of activities, such as contributing to projects and demands, regular annual activity, and technical problem-solving across systems.

Location: The role will be based in Poole with 2 days a week in the office. We will also consider applicants local to other offices, including Hebburn, Farnborough, and Manchester.

You’ll make a difference by:

  1. Upskilling on various topics covering employee lifecycle to include onboarding, offboarding, technical support, end-to-end query handling, and payroll processing activities.
  2. Providing proactive support to assist the smooth running of the service line ensuring customer service excellence is at the forefront of all that you do.
  3. Being responsible for your own workload as well as that of the team by taking ownership of case work and tasks.
  4. Maintaining process documentation and reviewing regularly.
  5. Seeking ways to improve both yourself and process activity and championing various topics whether BAU or project related.
  6. Supporting colleagues and promoting a one team mentality.
  7. Analysing and resolving technical system queries and/or error reports.
  8. Performing other duties as assigned by the Team Leader/Manager from time to time.
  9. Supporting various projects where HR systems are affected, representing the department, working independently, and providing valuable ideas and input.
  10. Participating in training activities including programmes to support the use of new technologies.
  11. Inputting to/identifying operational efficiencies related to the GBS systems and processes.

You’re excited to build on your existing expertise, including:

  1. Experience with Workday HR system and/or other payroll systems.
  2. Experience of working within a Shared Service or Bureau style environment.
  3. Working independently to manage key activity, prioritising, and remaining calm under pressure.
  4. Understanding of the employee life cycle/administration processes and experience of payroll processing.
