THE OPPORTUNITY

Title: Payroll Administrator

Location: UK (remote)

Job summary

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for collecting, validating, preparing and inputting payroll-related data; supporting effective end to end processing which meets business and statutory deadlines.

Your role in our mission:
Payroll Data Management & Adjustments:
  • Collect, validate, and upload employee time data, pension & benefit, salary details, and payroll adjustments as needed.

  • Process payroll adjustments for manual payments made outside of payroll.

  • Manage payroll errors and warnings before processing.

  • Upload and validate commissions, stock vesting (RSU), and redundancy/settlement payments.

  • Conduct hours paid analysis for payroll accuracy.

Leave & Absence Management:
  • Add and validate all existing maternity leave records, making adjustments if necessary.

  • Process and maintain records for new maternity leave (MatB1 data, confirmation letters).

  • Manage administration of new paternity leave and shared parental leave.

  • Upload sickness and absence pay adjustments based on unpaid sick leave integration.

  • Perform audit checks to ensure sick pay adjustments correctly reduce pay and are not added incorrectly.

Payroll & Compliance Reporting:
  • Prepare and review payroll reports pre-commit (before final payroll submission).

  • Post-commit reporting, including BACS payment reports and finance reports.

  • Generate post-commit bank reports and conduct Payroll audit (bank validation).

  • Provide GL (General Ledger) and post-payroll reporting.

  • Create and manage customized reports for Average Holiday Pay Calculation.

Third-Party & Compliance Payments:
  • Request approval from IRM Governance for third party payments.

  • Process and manage GMB (third-party) payments.

Overpayment & Adjustments:
  • Issue overpayment letters and manage necessary payroll adjustments.

Valued skills and experience:
  • Previous experience in UK payroll administration, payroll coordination, or HR data management. (Other EMEA country experience is a plus)

  • Proficiency in payroll and HR software systems (e.g., ADP, IHCM, Workday, SAP, Oracle).

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data validation).

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to meet payroll deadlines.

  • Strong communication skills to liaise with HR, Finance, and external stakeholders.

  • Experience working in a large, complex organization with high-volume payroll is desirable.

  • Strong working knowledge of Workday, SAP, ServiceNow is a plus.

  • Experience of working with STRADA (formerly Alight) is a plus
