As a Mechanical Stress Engineer, you will work within the engine design team, being responsible for mechanical assessments of aircraft and engine components to ensure that they meet the required life and integrity requirements. You will also create mechanical models to analyse the aircraft components and sub-systems using analysis methods ranging from initial scoping calculations in mathcad to 2D and 3D FEA models.

In your first few weeks in this Stress Engineer role, you can expect to:

• Build and analyse mechanical models of static and rotating components using 2D
• Work closely with the design team to optimise the performance and integrity of mechanical components across the platform
• Undertake technical assessment of the component life and integrity through the design phase, into testing, verification, validation, certification, and in-service support

To apply for this Mechanical Stress Engineer role, you will need a BSc/BEng in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 5+ years of relevant mechanical analysis experience. You will also require the following:

• FEA mechanical analysis (ANSYS) experience
• Good understanding of transient thermal loads in hot components and load interactions
• Experience in rig testing and verification (desirable)
