Job description

Planning is an important function within apetito, supporting delivery of business strategy. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Planning and will be an important and influential member of the Planning team.

Working within a team of 8, the successful candidate will be based at our production facility in Trowbridge, Wiltshire. The Materials Planner is responsible for arranging orders of raw materials and packaging into the manufacturing site at Trowbridge to meet the production plan.

Responsibilities
  • Review raw material and packaging requirements & PO requisitions and place orders according to lead time
  • Monitor Vendor delivery confirmations and act on variances of orders not confirmed for delivery
  • Review overdue Purchase Orders and follow up with suppliers with appropriate actions (complete order, amend delivery date). Escalate issues to Line Manager if required.
  • Provide clear, timely communication of supply issues via a range of communication methods, such as email, MS Teams, and face to face
  • Complete and Issue Return to Supplier requests and issue to supplier and apetito inbound delivery team and complete any necessary claim forms
  • Monitor products regularly with shelf-life constraints, and work with the Supplier and Internal apetito teams to avoid stock write offs or action usage with production
  • Report on stock cover and obsolete stock to be returned or wasted
  • Carry out actions assigned by Line Manager
  • Monitor and communicate with external storage partners on delivery dates, accurate stock levels and other issues
  • To follow all set procedures in line with food safety, quality, legality and authenticity
Qualifications/Personal Qualities
  • Supply Chain experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Driving Licence, or willingness to travel
  • Time management and working to deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Attention to details
  • Accuracy in reporting
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Communicating with all key stakeholders
  • Driving cooperation with all departments and resolving conflicts
  • Ability to change workload priorities without compromising agreed service levels
  • SAP experience
