From shaping capital allocation to driving rigorous appraisal and approval processes, we work closely with senior leadership, ensuring decisions align with the Delegation of Authority and the guidance of our CFO, Executive Committee, and Board. By managing capital with precision and vision, we help power IHG’s global success—one strategic investment at a time.

Your day to day

  • Assists allocation of available capital across expenditure types, strategic initiatives, and regions/functions.
  • Understands Group guidelines on capital appraisal.
  • Understands the IHG valuation model and answers ad-hoc questions on its workings from stakeholders.
  • Manages the approval of capital and other expenditure to the Executive Committee Capital Sub-Committee in line with Group Delegation of Authority policy.
  • Supports the Group’s annual post-implementation review of capital projects for presentation to the Board Audit Committee.
  • Contributes to maintenance of the group full year and multi-year cash flow forecast, working with stakeholder functions to determine inputs and cash inflows/outflows.
  • Assists with the preparation of the Group capital and cashflow Budget, Plan and Long-Range Plan.
  • Proactively provides insightful analysis and updates to the CFO, Board, EC, & Investor Relations on Group capital, investment, and cashflow, including around external financial announcements.

Building and maintaining trusted relationships is critical, as this role requires collaboration across teams—from CFO and Global Strategy to Tax, Treasury, and Investor Relations.

To excel in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • Strong commercial acumen, underpinned by experience across several finance disciplines, preferably within a Global finance function.
  • Understanding of IHG’s global business, and hospitality industry dynamics, effective at identifying broader business trends and highlighting these to senior management through clear and effective communication.
  • Strong understanding of financial modelling/analysis and financial principles, and capital and project appraisal.
  • Experience of Capital/Cashflow PBF and reporting processes in a global organisation.
  • Experience in external financial reporting or group financial analysis and planning.
  • Strong relationship management, verbal and written communication, and strategic & analytical skills required.
