Job description

Job Title: M&E Contract Manager - Surrey based.

Location: London (Primarily)

Package: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum (DOE) + Car Allowance + Annual Profit Share Bonus (post probation)

Holiday: 20 days + 8 Bank Holidays

Pension Scheme: Included

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Driving Requirement: Full, clean driving license required


About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled M&E Contract Manager to oversee a portfolio of Maintenance Contracts, including Gas, Mechanical, Electrical, and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (RAC) services, primarily within the Public and Private sectors. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background and proven expertise in managing maintenance contracts, with a focus on both planned and reactive maintenance valued in excess of £2 million.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a portfolio of M&E maintenance contracts, ensuring the delivery of services to the highest standards, within budget and on time.
  2. Oversee the day-to-day operations of gas, mechanical, electrical, and RAC maintenance contracts for a diverse range of clients, including universities and schools.
  3. Ensure the successful execution of both planned and reactive maintenance work.
  4. Manage and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, acting as the primary point of contact.
  5. Oversee contract support and operations teams, ensuring efficient resource allocation and project execution.
  6. Monitor and manage the P&L for the portfolio, ensuring profitability and cost control.
  7. Identify opportunities for growth and service improvement across contracts.
  8. Work closely with senior management and clients to resolve any issues and ensure smooth operations.
  9. Maintain strict attention to detail when managing contract numbers, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as an M&E Contract Manager or in a similar technical management role, with a background in mechanical, electrical, or gas disciplines.
  2. Strong technical understanding and the ability to manage complex M&E maintenance contracts.
  3. Experience in managing a portfolio of contracts, including both planned and reactive maintenance, valued at over £2 million.
  4. Commercially aware, with a solid understanding of P&L management.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  6. Detail-oriented with a strong ability to manage and monitor contract financials.
  7. Target-driven with a track record of delivering results and achieving objectives.
  8. Full, clean UK driving license is essential.
  9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a largely office-based working split (80% office /20% site).
