ABOUT QUADREAL’S LEGAL TEAM
QuadReal’s Legal Team comprises ten lawyers and three paralegals and is overseen by our Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary. Most of the Team is based in Canada, with one lawyer in New York and one lawyer in London. Six of those lawyers are dedicated to Transactional work and form the Transactions Legal Team.
The Transactions Legal Team provides commercial advice and legal support to QuadReal with respect to its investment opportunities. We negotiate the best outcomes possible, mitigate risks, and support informed and transparent decision making. We help to create enduring value by implementing QuadReal’s strategic vision and seek the best path forward through complex legal and commercial landscapes.
ROLE AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
You would be responsible for providing legal support, oversight and strategic advice to QuadReal’s European Real Estate Equity Investments and Credit businesses. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Europe, Legal, who is based in the London office, you would undertake the following matters with an appropriate degree of supervision depending on the task:
Provide advice that is focused on business results, with respect to:
Joint venture formation and oversight of existing joint venture relationships;
The development, asset management, purchase and sale of real estate investments;
Private M&A transactions and the oversight, governance and growth of our portfolio companies;
Borrower side debt financings/refinancings;
Lender side financings/refinancings across the capital stack (senior, mezzanine, preferred equity).
Review and negotiate legal documentation in connection with the above.
Assist with regulatory compliance in connection with the above.
Assist the Investment and Asset Management Teams with the preparation and presentation of Management Investment Committee materials for each investment.
Work closely with, and, together with the Investment and Asset Management Teams, manage and provide instructions to external legal counsel (including establishing and monitoring legal budgets).
Work closely with QuadReal’s Tax Team to develop, implement and maintain efficient business structures.
Collaborate closely with QuadReal’s Legal Team.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Required level of qualification:
Lawyer qualified to practice law in England.
Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience at a UK or International law firm in its real estate, corporate-real estate or real estate-finance practice.
