Job description

Our client, a leading company in advanced engineering and technological solutions, is looking for accomplished Land/Engineering Surveyor to work on an inspiring long-term project in West Cumbria.

What the role includes
  1. Assist the Lead Surveyor by prioritising and carrying out survey tasks as required for the project.
  2. Take ownership of surveying and setting out intricate systems, including civil, mechanical, and piping equipment.
  3. Conduct and document as-built positional checks for completed work.
  4. Process survey data in the office to generate CAD drawings and survey reports.
  5. Provide technical expertise and support to the project team as the subject matter expert.
  6. Mentor and guide less experienced surveyors and engineers, teaching practical survey methods and best practices for setting out.
  7. Ensure full understanding and adherence to project quality assurance protocols.
  8. Maintain a strong focus on safety to uphold a Zero Harm work environment.

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

The role requires an individual experienced in surveying and set-out of complex large projects and must be:

  1. Holds a degree or HND in Surveying or a related field.
  2. Proficient in independently conducting a range of surveys, measurements, and Laser Scanning tasks using advanced surveying equipment and processing software.
  3. Reliable, capable of managing personal equipment, and comfortable working independently with a strong attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
  4. Flexible, with the ability to work night shifts and/or weekends as needed.
  5. A collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to establish strong working relationships with delivery partners.
  6. Able to interpret project schedules and prioritise interdependent tasks effectively.
  7. Enthusiastic about the work, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  8. Membership with the Chartered Institute of Engineering Surveyors is preferred.
  9. Holds a valid CSCS card.
  10. IOSH Working Safely certified.
Design Tools/Software
  1. Working knowledge of Navisworks and 3D BIM desirable.
  2. Good knowledge of AutoCAD, LSS, Leica Survey Equipment.

Successful candidate should be able to obtain a high level of security clearance.
