Job description

Responsible for the delivery of allocated IT technical projects and workstreams on time, to budget and to the defined quality levels. This will include using the appropriate methodologies, techniques, and tools, to make sure the corporate strategy is realised.

I am keen to speak with any IT Project Manager with demonstrable experience of delivering projects from the discovery stage to delivery.

Outcomes Include:
  • Lead and manage the delivery of multiple technical projects and/or workstreams simultaneously including responsibility for project team management and adherence to processes and governance to ensure successful delivery in terms of time, cost, quality, benefits, business readiness and transition into BAU.
  • Develop relationships with Project Sponsors to agree project deliverables and scope, project timings, budget, expected benefits, reporting mechanisms and escalation of risks and issues.
  • Build and manage project teams including developing team members, managing conflict, and addressing issues of personal performance to support delivery of a successful project.
  • Lead project teams in the execution of all project activities including team set-up, budgeting, development of project approach and managing deliverables.
  • Utilise relevant quality assurance tools including risk and issue registers, dependency logs, lessons learned reports, stakeholder communication plans, project plans and status reports throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Establish collaborative working relationships with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels including other project/programme teams to align on scope, deliverables, timings, and benefits.
  • Identify and address emerging issues in the control of project timing, deliverables, benefits risks, assumptions, changes, and dependencies, escalating to the Project Sponsor(s), Steering Group or Head of Solution, Development and Delivery (IT) when applicable.
Essential Experience:
  • Strong project management skills including dealing with several projects and stakeholders with competing deadlines and priorities.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills including Visio, Project, SharePoint Online and Teams.
  • Outstanding communication skills including clear and concise writing skills, active listening skills and strong verbal skills.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate and create buy-in at all levels.
  • Management of project budgets & forecasting.
  • Experience of managing external consultants/suppliers under a statement of works (SoW) and/or call-off frameworks.
  • Experience of preparing materials for and facilitating workshops across business units and project work-streams.
  • Ability to plan proactively with experience of creating and managing project plans escalating deviations as appropriate.
  • Ability to develop a team approach and provide clear direction to a group or individuals to achieve the objectives of the project.
  • Experience managing risks and issues effectively.
