This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience while supporting the smooth operation of IT services across our schools.

Holy Family Catholic Multi Academy Trust comprises seven schools—two secondary and five primary—across Wirral and Cheshire. Their mission is to inspire and transform lives through faith, trust, respect, innovation, and courage. They are committed to equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed, supported by state-of-the-art technology and resources.

As an IT Apprentice, you will work closely with the ICT team to support teaching, learning, and administration by maintaining and improving IT services. This hands-on role will provide training and experience in troubleshooting, network maintenance, and classroom technology support.

You will work towards a Level 3 IT Support Apprenticeship delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:
  • Provide first-line support for equipment, including desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, and interactive whiteboards.
Network and System Maintenance:
  • Monitor and maintain the school’s network, including servers, switches, and wireless systems.
  • Maintain and support classroom AV equipment such as projectors, smartboards, and interactive displays.
  • Manage the inventory of ICT equipment, logging and tracking hardware and software licenses.
Training and Development:
  • Participate in structured training to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Receive mentorship and guidance from experienced IT professionals.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic Team.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:
  • Holiday Entitlement: 22 days plus bank holidays (to be taken outside of term time).
  • Paid apprenticeship with career progression opportunities in a dynamic educational setting.
  • Supportive team environment dedicated to enhancing the school’s IT infrastructure.
  • Cycle-to-work scheme (after probation period).
  • Mentorship from experienced IT professionals.
  • Hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology.
Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:
  • Genuine passion for IT and a commitment to pursuing a long-term career in the field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to learning.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • GCSE Grade 5/C in English and Grade 4/C in Maths (or equivalent).
Your Training with Baltic:

You will be enrolled in a Level 3 IT Support Apprenticeship, providing you with formal qualifications and practical skills. You'll also have access to one-to-one mentoring sessions with senior team members and on-the-job training that aligns with your career goals.

Beyond the fundamental apprenticeship modules, you'll delve into two Be-Spoke modules and one advanced Expert module. This personalised approach will hone your abilities and deepen your expertise, positioning you as a true leader in your field. The Be-Spoke and Expert modules you will complete are:

  • SC – 900 Security, Compliance and Identity Fundamentals: Provides learners with the fundamentals of security, compliance, and identity (SCI) across cloud-based and related Microsoft services.
