Coinbase is looking for a Head of Finance, UK to provide detailed finance, reporting, and accounting support for its regulated entity based in the UK, reporting to the Global Assistant Controller in the US. The Head of Finance, UK will provide effective financial leadership for Coinbase UK to grow value responsibly, in a profitable and sustainable manner. This position plays a crucial role in meeting our regulatory, financial, and tax reporting obligations in the UK.

What you’ll be doing (job duties):

• Partnering with the Global accounting team to prepare and review month-end and quarter-end close processes.
• Responsible for preparation and coordination of financial statements, regulatory reporting, and business forecasts.
• Monitoring the safeguarding of customer funds in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Overseeing the finance function in the UK and ensuring effective finance processes.
• Preparation of UK monthly management reporting and analytical review.
• Acting as a contact point for financial and accounting queries.
• Monitoring and overseeing the performance of outsourced services.
• Active in the UK entity’s liquidity management.
• Participating in critical projects, including transitioning to new external vendors.
• Supporting ad hoc financial information requests and analyses.

What we look for in you (job requirements):

• 8+ years’ experience as a finance professional in relevant fields.
• 5+ years’ experience in a regulated entity/environment.
• A professional finance qualification (ACA, GCA, CMA, ACCA, or CPA).
• Experience in payments, e-money, or banking functions.
• Current or previous experience with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
• Ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of business functions.
• Excellent oral and written communication; fluency in English is required.
• Track record of building strong relationships with boards and regulators.
• Capacity to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Expert knowledge of IFRS, FRS 102, and US GAAP.
• Knowledge of accounting month-end book close process.

Nice to haves:

• Experience working in Netsuite, FloQast, and Google Suite.
• Basic knowledge of digital assets and the crypto economy.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and experience with analytics tools.
