New Business Development Director (Financial & Professional Services)

Location: Remote (United Kingdom)

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Overview: My client is seeking a dynamic, results-driven, and experienced Business Development Director to join their expanding sales team. This role is responsible for leading and driving the sales growth of a market leading and Enterprise wide ERP/CRM platform (Cloud, managed and digital transformation projects) within the UK market across the Professional Services & Financial Services industry sectors on a predominantly new business basis (80/20 split new logo/account land & expand/upsell).

The candidate will possess a deep understanding of ERP/CRM solutions (managed & cloud), complex ERP/CRM strategic sales (C-Suite engagement), while having a proven track record of securing £MM (TCV) new business/new logo's and capable of building long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead New Business Development Initiatives: Identify, develop, and close £1.5M-£3M+ TCV ERP/CRM new business opportunities within the Professional & Financial services sector, including both new logo's (80%) and expanding existing client relationships (20%).
  2. Strategic Sales: Own the sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing up to & including the C-Suite. Create and execute effective strategies to target and engage high-potential clients.
  3. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within client organisations. Understand client needs and provide tailored ERP/CRM solutions.
  4. Market and Competitor Analysis: Stay informed on market trends and competitor strategies. Use this insight to guide sales efforts.
  5. Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work closely with the marketing, solution architecture, and project delivery teams to ensure proposals and project execution are aligned with client needs.
  6. Revenue Growth and Targets: Achieve and exceed defined sales targets (£2.5M - £3M TCV per annum) and KPIs.
  7. Proposal Development and Presentation: Lead the development of proposals and presentations, effectively communicating the value of ERP/CRM solutions.
  8. Networking and Industry Presence: Attend industry events and conferences to build your professional network and promote the company’s ERP/CRM services.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Experience: At least 10+ years of proven new business development experience within the ERP (or CRM) space.
  2. Industry Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of ERP/CRM software solutions and implementation processes.
  3. Sales Expertise: Strong background in B2B sales, lead generation, and closing strategies.
  4. Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  6. Team Player: Collaborative, with a proven ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Education: A degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not essential. ERP certifications are an advantage.
