About the role

Are you ready to lead the digital revolution at NLWA? We're seeking a visionary Head of DDAT to steer our digital, data, and technology strategies to new heights. In this pivotal role, you'll manage back-office technology and guide product managers to achieve strategic goals. You'll oversee two dynamic teams focused on the North London Heat and Power Project (NLHPP) and NLWA's Waste Data Operations, collaborating with London Energy Limited (LEL) as we operationalise major new assets.

Your leadership will enhance efficiency by supporting technology migration, bolstering information assurance practices, and ensuring seamless operations. You'll manage key governance functions and uphold data security standards, while engaging with senior borough directors and elected members to shape the future of NLWA. As part of the Corporate Services Leadership Team, you'll contribute to business planning and drive data-driven decision-making across NLWA.

With comprehensive knowledge of digital, data, and technology, you effectively utilise user needs to help teams articulate their requirements. ITIL/Agile qualifications are a plus.

You possess a broad understanding of technology policies, such as information management, acceptable use, and bring-your-own-device policies. Your ability to align DDaT initiatives with corporate needs and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including members and politicians, is exceptional. You have a proven track record of delivering large and complex DDaT initiatives and are experienced in strategising and governing the DDaT pipeline in line with corporate needs, adept at operating across cultural boundaries.

Highly numerate and literate, you derive key insights for the business and the residents of North London. You have a deep understanding of data protection and sharing issues and excel in presenting complex information to a range of audiences. Your leadership skills are proven, inspiring and managing teams effectively while managing upwards as needed. An interest in the environment, climate, recycling, or waste management practices is desirable, reflecting your commitment to sustainability.

If you're a proactive leader with a passion for technology and a knack for collaboration, we would love to hear from you.
