Job description

We are seeking a Group Procurement Manager to join a growing group of Engineering companies with ambitious plans for continued expansion.
This role will play a key part in driving value through strategic sourcing, supplier performance, and the optimisation of Capex and central function spend.
With a strong focus on governance, compliance, and continuous improvement, this is a great opportunity for a commercially-minded Procurement professional ready to make a group-wide impact.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Support the strategic sourcing and supplier management of central functions and group-wide Capex.
  2. Conduct internal spend analysis to identify aggregation and savings opportunities.
  3. Perform external market analysis on key spend categories to benchmark performance and supply chain capability.
  4. Lead RFx processes, including strategy development, risk assessment, and stakeholder value evaluation.
  5. Manage internal stakeholder expectations, aligning procurement activity with business requirements.
  6. Support the development of procurement policy, governance, and process mapping across the group.
  7. Assist in delivering and tracking savings targets, particularly across central cost centres and Capex.
  8. Contribute to supplier due diligence processes and help develop agile, low-risk supply chain models.
  9. Implement strategies that simplify the supply chain, reduce supplier numbers, and maximise value.
  10. Champion sustainability, innovation, and ethical sourcing across the group.
  11. Support audit, compliance, and regulatory processes as required.

Reporting to the Group Director of Procurement, the successful candidate will work collaboratively across departments and business units, leading procurement activity and supporting the delivery of operational and strategic procurement goals.

Skills & Experience Required
  1. End-to-end sourcing and RFx experience including tendering, negotiation, and supplier performance management.
  2. Extensive procurement experience with broad category exposure.
  3. Strong analytical, strategic, and commercial mindset.
  4. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  5. Ability to influence at all levels, working cross-functionally and collaboratively.
  6. Hands-on, proactive approach to problem-solving and delivery.
  7. Experience in centralised procurement functions or multi-site businesses preferred.
  8. Experience in international trade and global supply chains (desirable but not essential).
  9. CIPS qualified or equivalent (desirable).
  10. Degree-level education or equivalent work experience (preferred).
  11. Flexibility to travel UK-wide with occasional overnight stays.

Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 + Bonus + Benefits package
