Job description

Group Financial Controller | London based | Salary £100,000 - £120,000 + bonus & equity

I am currently working with a PE backed Digital Infrastructure company looking to bring in a Financial Controller to support the CFO. My client has recently been acquired and they are looking to grow massively over the next 4 - 5 years. You will be joining the company at this early stage with the opportunity to build out the finance team.

Some of the responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, including VAT, corporate tax, and other relevant taxes.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, providing insightful analysis and recommendations to the senior leadership team.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide financial analysis to support strategic initiatives, including capital expenditure projects and potential acquisitions.
  • Produce regular reports for the PE investors.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Manage team performance and development, ensuring the team has the skills and resources to achieve its objectives.
  • Manage the day-to-day running of the finance function.
  • Drive the implementation and optimisation of financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Identify and implement best practices in financial management.
  • Manage the relationships with the company's banking partners.
  • Assist the CFO with financial due diligence for potential acquisitions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience.
  • Proven experience in a senior financial management role.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS and local GAAPs.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with financial systems implementation and optimisation (Essential).
  • Experience in managing relationships with PE investors.

This is a very exciting opportunity to work closely with the new PE backers and to learn from a strategic CFO. This role is based in central London with entities across Europe.
