Job description

Vårgrønn is hiring for a Finance Manager to oversee and manage the financial accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective support for management and stakeholders, to support the Company’s growth.

Vårgrønn is an agile, Norway-based offshore wind company powering the energy transition through development, construction, operation, and ownership of offshore wind assets. Vårgrønn is a joint venture between the energy company Plenitude (Eni) and the Norwegian energy entrepreneur and investor HitecVision.

Vårgrønn holds a 20% share in Dogger Bank, the world’s largest offshore windfarm under construction, and has together with Flotation Energy been awarded exclusivity to develop the two floating offshore wind projects Green Volt and Cenos in Scotland with a combined capacity of up to 1.9 GW. Green Volt is on track to become Europe’s first commercial scale floating offshore wind farm.

This position is based in London and will work closely with the CFO and the rest of the Finance team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise financial accounting activities in line with set timetables, ensuring the preparation of financial statements and periodic situations in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
• Prepare monthly management reports and analysis for shareholder reporting and internal management.
• Review current accounting literature and stay updated on changes impacting financial statements and company reporting.
• Coordinate the auditing process with external auditors.
• Oversee monthly bank reconciliation activities, accounts payable and receivable processes, and bookkeeping functions, including maintenance of the general ledger and payroll.
• Ensure compliance with loan covenants and manage information flow with relevant lenders.
• Support the CFO with ordinary relationships with banks and financial institutions and assist with cash management in the UK.
• Support the tax advisor with managing tax activities involving accounting data.
• Update and implement necessary business policies and accounting practices.

Experience and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a BS/MA degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a similar field, along with over 6 years of experience.

The candidate should have the ability to guide and lead to ensure proper financial processes and be proficient in commonly used finance software, including Excel, database management, and ERP systems.

Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to meet deadlines are essential. Additionally, the candidate should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to create an open and trusting working relationship within the team, contributing to a healthy and effective work environment.
