Events Executive

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join the Citywire events team. You will be responsible for managing and producing your own events alongside supporting the Events team in the day-to-day running of the department. A large part of the role will involve travel throughout Europe, Asia & the USA to ensure the smooth running of our industry-leading events.

On top of this, you will be assisting our conference production team in running main platform sessions at our events both in person and online. This will include working closely with our video and IT teams to deliver high-quality sessions from live events, our London studios, and the homes of colleagues and clients across the world.

At Citywire, we produce over 100 events a year – from half-day forums and roundtable debates to multi-day conferences. They take place all over the globe and, in the last 4 years, virtually too. From Miami to Bangkok, Paris to Cape Town– this is a fast-paced role based around bringing the right investor audience to meet with our leading asset management clients.

What you’ll be doing:

1. Planning, budgeting, and executing high-quality events in person and virtually.
2. Overseeing the smooth running of the main content sessions, including AV set-up, rehearsals and show calling (both UK and Internationally).
3. Setting up and hosting virtual sessions behind the scenes over Zoom, or show-calling our in-house studio events.
4. Supporting onsite at in-person events with registration and catering (both UK and internationally).
5. Setting up event websites for the registration and promotion of new events.
6. Liaising with hotels and sourcing appropriate event venues.
7. Booking travel and accommodation for delegates.
8. Project manage the event invite process ensuring deadlines are met.

What we’re looking for:

1. Experience working in event management is beneficial (can be through internships etc) but not essential.
2. A strong desire and enthusiasm to build your career in the field of event planning.
3. Flexibility to travel (internationally) frequently and work outside of normal office hours.
4. Excellent communication skills - both client-facing and with colleagues.
5. Proficient and confident in using various social media platforms.
6. An interest in building your knowledge of Financial Services.
7. Good MS Office skills.
8. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail with excellent time management.
