Your new company
Your new brokers are a well-established Lloyd’s Broking House who are the umbrella for a larger holding company and this team specialises in all classes of Marine, Fine Art, and yacht risks. This particular division is a smaller team within the wider organisation and works closely together within the Marine Hull & Liability department. The team itself is made up of a number of talented individuals who are real experts in International Marine Hull & Liability risks and are a close and productive team. Due to growth within the division, a permanent job for a Broker Back Up Technician to provide client and technical support to the International Marine Hull team has arisen.
Your new role
Your new permanent job working as a Technician will be responsible for handling the International Marine Hull and related risks. You will work closely with the brokers responsible for a full broker support role, with duties including the preparation of MRC slips, endorsements for the London market, checking over all documentation prepared by the team, premium processing, and dealing with Xchanging. You will liaise with brokers, underwriters, and clients daily. Other duties will include preparing cover notes, debit notes, letters of undertaking, and account entries for larger clients, as well as renewing some cover facilities. You will support the brokers on client accounts, liaise with insurers, and provide any technical support that clients need.
What you'll need to succeed
Your previous experience working as a technician and your ability to produce and process technical documentation will contribute to your success in securing this role. You will have a relevant level of technical knowledge and vast experience in the production of technical documentation, including MRC slips and endorsements. Experience with Xchanging and familiarity with Lloyd’s List Intelligence is preferred. You will also have experience dealing with clients and insurers and have proven experience in developing relationships with both. You will be technically confident and able to be a self-starter, as this role is very much a hybrid role. Please only apply if you have relevant London Market Marine Hull Technical experience.
