Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated KS3 French Teacher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality online lessons, engaging students in interactive learning, and ensuring academic excellence.

The successful candidate will be required to take over a pre-existing timetable for mixed lessons with students from Year 6 - Year 8. First teaching is Tuesday April 22nd 2025, last teaching Friday June 27th 2025.

Timetable:
  • Mondays: 11:30am-12:20am Year 7
  • Tuesdays: 12pm-12:50pm Year 8
  • Wednesdays: 11:30am-12:20am Year 7 / 1pm-1:50pm Year 8 / 2:30pm-3:20pm Year 6+7
  • Thursdays: 10am-10:50am Year 7 1:1
  • Fridays: 2pm-2:50pm Year 6+7
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging online lessons that align with the UK curriculum.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive online learning environment.
  • Use digital tools effectively to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching strategies.
  • Maintain regular communication with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Uphold school policies, safeguarding procedures, and professional standards.
Essential Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching French to non-native speakers and to a younger age group.
  • A relevant degree in French, Cultural Studies, Modern Foreign Languages or a related area.
  • Holds an enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Proven experience teaching in an online or classroom setting.
  • Strong IT skills and experience using online learning platforms.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students in an online learning environment.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience teaching international students or students with diverse learning needs.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with British curriculum standards and assessment methods.
  • Additional teaching qualifications or subject specialisms.
Pre-Employment Checks

All successful candidates will be required to:

  • Complete a healthcare declaration form.
  • Be subject to a TRA (Teaching Regulation Agency) check.
  • Provide proof of identity, qualifications, and the right to work in the UK.
  • Provide two professional references, one of which must be from the most recent employer.
