Job description

Established freight forwarder based in Bedfont are looking for a Global Pricing Specialist to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage and oversee all incoming pricing requests to convert business through accurate, effective, and timely submission.
2. Maintain mailboxes under your control.
3. Ensure that any quotes accepted comply strictly with the company's terms and conditions and accounting practices.
4. Manage and follow up all quotes to obtain feedback to measure, analyse and circulate to the Commercial Manager, suggesting and adjusting pricing where possible to ensure security of business.
5. Weekly monitoring of won/loss quotes and follow-ups.
6. Follow up on sales leads, updating CRM and logging sales actions as follow-up, adding as new prospect where required.
7. Price comparison analysis on key trade lanes, escalating partner performance to the Commercial Manager.
8. Negotiate rates with carriers/hauliers/suppliers. Confirm availability of equipment and agree prices where no tariff exists to maximise cost-effectiveness.
9. Produce strategic tariffs when required to ensure effective workload and to ensure these tariffs are kept up to date and relevant.
10. Seek new carriers/routings that bring value to both the company and our customers.
11. Identify and set goals for improved performance and deadlines in ways that comply with the company's plans and vision.

Ideal Candidate Key Skill Attributes

1. Industry and operational multi-modal knowledge of airfreight, sea freight, road freight - inbound & outbound including cross trade.
2. Strong team player, with ability to work independently when required.
3. Able to cope and accustomed to working under pressure to meet fixed deadlines.
4. Good analytical skills.
5. Dangerous goods knowledge.
6. Good communication, including ongoing negotiation skills.
7. Enthusiastic, flexible, and self-motivated.

Hours

Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:30hrs

Salary

£30,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience)
