Venue Staffing Manager- Events and Hospitality

Join our Peppermint Events Venue team! We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a Stadium Bars Operations Manager based at our London Stadiums and surrounding venues. We are seeking an experienced bars and hospitality professional to oversee the operational management of our bars within our venues. This includes but is not limited to ensuring that all operations run smoothly during events, co-ordinating bar set up and staff, maintaining inventory levels and reporting, and excellent customer experience.

The Stadium Bars Operations Manager will manage bars setup and close down, ensuring a seamless workflow, controlling stock levels and data input, liaising with staffing agencies, collaborating with the senior events team department and clients, and reporting on performance and targets. This role requires excellent leadership, organisational, and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Bar Operations
  • Oversee all bar operations within the stadium, ensuring smooth execution during events (e.g., pre-event, during, and post-event).
  • Maintain operational efficiency by overseeing bar setup, service delivery, and post-event close down.
  • Ensure all bars are consistently stocked with the necessary products, equipment, and supplies, monitoring inventory and ordering stock as required.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing and health & safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with the stadium’s facilities and maintenance teams to ensure all bars and equipment are functioning correctly.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve and make clear and definitive decisions.
  • Ensure excellent end-user customer service and delivery.
  • Work with operations teams to manage client expectations and deliver target profit margins including staffing percentages and stock GP.
  • Provide cover and support to our seasonal venues, Dreamland and Arcade X.
Staffing
  • Liaise with staffing agencies to ensure staff are booked in and to correct levels across the bars based on attendance numbers and staffing budgets.
  • Implement necessary training to ensure that all team members are knowledgeable about alcohol service, customer service standards, and safety protocols.
  • Monitor team performance, provide regular feedback, and address any issues or conflicts.
  • Conduct staff briefings to ensure all staff have the correct information pre-event.
  • Report any issues to the staffing department and liaise with agency contacts.
  • Manage staffing needs and recruitment processes with our internal staffing team.
Stock Management
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date stock takes for all bars, including alcohol, soft drinks, and bar maintenance materials.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of leftover stock and report any discrepancies/damages, or wastage.
  • Work with the senior stock team and suppliers to order and restock products as needed, ensuring timely deliveries.
  • Monitor stock usage to predict needs for upcoming events, adjusting inventory orders accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock usage, inventory levels, and product orders.
  • Ensure that stock is rotated properly (FIFO - First In, First Out) to prevent spoilage and waste.
Event and Client Communications
  • Be the main point of contact for the client alongside dedicated Account Manager.
  • Coordinate with the events management team to understand the requirements of each event and ensure bars are fully prepared.
  • Attend meetings with clients and suppliers to ensure all practices are followed correctly.
  • Work closely with the internal events team and client management team to ensure that all bar operations align with event schedules and specific requirements.
  • Attend event planning meetings to provide input on bar setups, inventory needs, staffing, and service schedules.
  • Handle any guest complaints or concerns related to bar service, resolving issues quickly and professionally.
Reporting
  • Prepare and submit regular operational reports, including financial performance (sales, costs, labour), stock usage, and event-specific feedback.
  • Monitor and ensure correct POS reporting, and reconciliation of sales.
  • Maintain detailed records of daily transactions, inventory counts, and stock movements.
  • Report any significant issues (e.g., shortages, equipment failure) to senior management and work to resolve them promptly.
  • Work alongside the finance team to ensure accurate P&L tracking and post event reconciliation.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management role in a stadium/venue/festival setting.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget and P&L management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and resolve any issues efficiently.
  • In-depth knowledge of bar set up and operations.
  • A passion for events and creating memorable experiences.
  • Experience in stock and performance reporting.
  • Proficiency with POS systems, inventory management software, and basic office tools (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends dependent on the event schedule.
