Job description

As Senior Reward and Payroll Advisor, you'll support the Reward and Payroll Manager in all aspects of processing payroll, reward, and benefits for the business. Please note, this role is fixed term for a period of 12 months.

The successful candidate will need senior-level experience, confidence working independently, and the ability to lead on tasks and projects. This role is key in transitioning payroll and benefits management in-house, so experience with change and systems implementation is a big plus.

You'll join a collaborative and supportive People Team that consists of HR, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, People Development, Internal Comms, and Engagement.

What you'll be doing

  • Process monthly payroll using Iris Cascade for 750+ employees, including starters, leavers, absences, commissions, and statutory payments.
  • Administer company benefits and pensions, liaising with providers and handling employee queries.
  • Support payroll and HRIS transformation projects, including system maintenance and reporting.
  • Provide expert advice on payroll, benefits, and compliance, ensuring best practices and legal adherence.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Senior Management, and the People Team on payroll matters and reporting.
  • Contribute to year-end processes (P60s, P11Ds, PSA), audits, and the annual pay review.
  • Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, balance sheets, and third-party payments.
  • Respond to payroll queries and manage ad hoc data/reporting requests.

Your Experience

  • Experience of using Iris Cascade payroll system is desirable.
  • Experience of processing end-to-end payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and procedures.
  • Confident working independently and collaboratively across teams, especially with Finance and People.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Lookups, Pivot Tables) and other Office programs.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organised.
  • Strong communicator with excellent relationship-building and influencing skills.
  • Able to manage deadlines, balance BAU and projects, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience with employee benefits is a plus.
