Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger Clerk with experience in a similar accounting / finance / payables role, a polite and professional telephone manner and excellent team working and numeracy skills is required for well-established company based in Hyde, Tameside, Greater Manchester.

SALARY: £25,000 - £28,000 pro rata + Benefits

LOCATION: Hyde, Tameside, Greater Manchester, North West England (SK14)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

WORKING HOURS: 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday – Friday

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger Clerk with experience in a similar accounting / finance / payables role, a polite and professional telephone manner and excellent team working and numeracy skills. Working as the Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger Clerk you will join a fast-paced Finance team and will be responsible for the full purchase ledger process, from purchase orders through to invoices, payments and reconciliation. As the Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger Clerk you will need to be detail-oriented, organised and reliable.

DUTIES

Your duties as an Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger Clerk will include:

  1. Matching, checking, coding invoices and delivery notes
  2. Setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details
  3. Reconciliation of supplier statements
  4. Processing invoices, credit, payments & refunds
  5. Making payments via BACS, SEPA & transfer
  6. Foreign currency calculations
  7. Review an aged creditor listing weekly and maintaining correct balances
  8. Dealing with purchase order stock call offs and price queries
  9. Posting of deposit/ prepayment invoices for call off orders
  10. GRNI reconciliation
  11. Processing staff expenses
  12. Intercompany reconciliations
  13. Being first point of contact for all relevant enquiries
  14. Ad hoc duties

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  1. Polite & professional telephone manner
  2. Experience of working within a team
  3. Experience working within a similar role

Desirable

  1. Working in foreign currency
  2. Experience of working with an ERP system
  3. Basic Excel proficiency
