Job description

This is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form in Wiltshire. With approximately 1380 pupils, this is a successful academy converter. Ofsted rated this school ‘Good’ in a recent inspection.

Role:

1. To share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.
2. Plan for the learning needs of all students in assigned groups.
3. Create a positive learning environment.
4. Use a wide range of teaching and learning strategies that will stimulate learning.
5. Prepare lessons which meet the learning needs of students.
6. Actively contribute to events.
7. Contribute and respond to departmental plans.
8. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of lessons and schemes of learning.

Experience, Qualifications and Training:

1. We seek a qualified and enthusiastic teacher of Music.
2. Must be appropriately qualified – QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent.
3. Ability to teach KS3, 4, and 5 Music (advantageous).
4. Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential). Training will be provided.
5. Suitable role for experienced teachers and early career teachers (ECT).

Eligibility to work in a teaching role:

1. Holds Right to Work in the UK.
2. Provide two professional child-related references that cover the last two years.
3. Enhanced DBS with Barred List check certificate which is either on the online ‘Update Service’ or be willing to apply for a new DBS certificate.
