Payroll Assistant

This is a key role within the business, co-ordinating a monthly payroll for the Bellrock Group companies for circa 1800 employees.

You will be responsible for administering the monthly payroll and time & attendance system in an accurate and timely manner, within strict timescales, working within a busy Payroll Team.

As a Payroll Assistant with Bellrock, you’ll do it by:

  • Co-ordinating the monthly payroll information to People XD whilst working to tight deadlines.
  • Ensuring that all payroll information has been received from sites/departments and chase where necessary.
  • Accurate inputting of overtime, on call, unpaid, sickness, allowances, attachment of earnings etc.
  • Undertaking a series of checks prior to the running of the payroll.
  • Communicating with employees regarding any payroll queries.
  • Weekly review of timesheets, identifying errors and liaising with managers/schedulers.
  • Processing monthly Pension administration.
  • Maintaining changes and timesheets in the time and attendance system.
  • Setting up new users on People XD.
  • Managing the Payroll In-Box.

The post holder may be required to undertake any other duties which may reasonably be required within the nature of their duties and responsibilities.

What does it take?

If you’re ready to be the energy that helps us build our business, share our success, and really own it as a Payroll Assistant, you’ll need:

  • Exceptional data entry skills.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of payroll desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, including a good telephone manner.
  • Discretion is essential to this role as you will be dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Able to prioritise workload and manage working time effectively.

Working arrangements

In this role, the successful candidate would be required to work from home and to be in the office twice a week (either our Leicester or Sheffield office). The hours are 37.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
