Job description

This vacancy is for an Accounting Apprentice based in Blackburn.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to undertake valuable work experience within the accounts department whilst gaining on-the-job qualifications.

This role will be to work under the guidance of our finance and administration team to gain a Level 2 AAT qualification in Accounting. Here you will have the opportunity to earn a wage, develop real work experience, and study for qualifications.

• A desire to build a career in accounting.
• Good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
• A team player that is adaptable to changing demands.
• An enthusiastic, motivated individual that is keen to learn. You must also take ownership for your own learning and development.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Confidence with numbers.

Main Responsibilities:

• Stock Control
• Credit Control
• Purchase Invoicing
• Working with the administration team.

Qualifications Required:

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths, English, and Science.
• Actual or predicted Maths grade must be between 6–9.

Role Schedule:

• Day shift.
• You will be required to work every Saturday, and your weekly schedule will span Monday to Saturday, with a designated day off during the week.

Training to be provided

AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting which contains:

• Introduction to Bookkeeping
• Principles of Bookkeeping
• Principles of Costing
• The Business Environment
