Our client is a Private Equity backed Property and Technology business who require a best in class Group Financial Controller (GFC). The GFC is a highly visible role across the business and is a key component within the Group Finance team. With a team of 6 qualified accountants and reporting into the Group Finance Director, the GFC is responsible for the external reporting, shareholder reporting, technical accounting, and implementation of appropriate policies, procedures, and processes to ensure an effective control environment across the Group. The role is also involved in providing key strategic information to Regional Managing Directors and the C-Suite to inform decision making and drive business performance.
The GFC is also accountable to the Audit Committee and works closely with Group’s external auditors to ensure the Group is compliant with all relevant local accounting policies.
In addition to this, the GFC is involved in key finance projects including but not limited to systems implementation, finance transformation, and shareholder-related transactions.
Responsibilities include:
The successful applicant will be a qualified accountant, preferably with a practice background with at least 7 years post-qualification experience. Essential experience will include having been a Group Financial Controller previously with knowledge of the property sector and in particular technical expertise around lease accounting. You will have excellent consolidation and group reporting skills, be a Subject Matter Expert in technical accounting, and be able to operate in a fast-moving dynamic environment.
