Job description

We are seeking a Construction Auditor to join our team.

Are you a dynamic professional with a passion for building strategic relationships and helping our clients improve their business resilience?

About us

LRQA stands for dedication to clients, market firsts, and deep expertise in risk management. We’ve grown to become a leading global assurance provider, bringing together outstanding expertise in certification, customised assurance, cybersecurity, inspection and training.

While we’re proud of our heritage, it’s who we are today that really matters, because that’s what shapes who we and our clients can become tomorrow. By staying true to our shared values and combining decades of collective experience, we support our clients in building a safer and more sustainable future.

LRQA currently operates across 150 countries, has more than 5,000+ colleagues globally, generates £407m in revenue, and supports more than 61,000 clients across a diverse range of sectors and markets.

Our Assessment Business Unit is a recognised, world-leading professional assurance services organisation. We specialise in management systems compliance, helping our clients improve their management systems and reduce risk.

How will you make a difference

Clients in construction, engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, marine, IT, and government sectors depend on LRQA to effectively audit their management systems, providing assurance of business-critical compliance and risk management.

As well as undertaking risk-focused audits and making certification decisions, you will call on your accomplished people skills to cultivate positive client relationships and proactively identify areas of vulnerability in client operations.

In return, we’ll invest in your training and development to include qualification to Lead Auditor status in ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and SSIP management system standards. We will also help you work towards any relevant professional qualifications that will support your role.

We’ve a well-developed homeworking infrastructure for when you’re not visiting clients and have been a champion of new ways of working for many years.

The role gives you the opportunity to obtain a healthy blend of travel and visiting client sites whilst retaining the flexibility to undertake remote audits when required.

What will you bring

You’ll need a real passion for the built environment and have several years’ experience working in the sector. Your day-to-day role as an auditor would be covering standards such as ISO 9001 for quality, ISO 14001 for environment, ISO 45001 for health & safety, and SSIP.

You will have several years’ experience in the built environment sector and a good working knowledge of quality, environment and health & safety management systems. Experience in National Highway Sector Schemes, sustainable procurement or construction materials would be advantageous.

You’ll be home based, auditing on a blended approach combining time at client sites with remote working, so you need to be comfortable with daily travel at each end of the working day.

By joining us, you’ll help make the world a better place.
