Are you a highly motivated and proactive Public Relations Specialist looking for an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact? Our client, a global law firm, is seeking a talented individual to join their fast-paced PR team in London. If you have a passion for building positive media profiles and a knack for engaging with target reporters, we want to hear from you!

About the Role: As a Public Relations Specialist, you will support the Associate Director in promoting our client across the EMEA region. Your primary focus will be driving a positive media profile for their partners and key practices through extensive liaison with target reporters across various media titles. You will develop and implement PR plans to promote the firm's thought leadership reports, events, campaigns, new partner hires, and other marketing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a day-to-day point of contact with the press.
  • Research and identify suitable profile opportunities in target media.
  • Engage with target reporters to build relationships and secure opportunities for our partners.
  • Schedule and organise media briefings, prepare partners for interviews, and advise on press response techniques.
  • Generate and pitch story ideas to secure positive media coverage.
  • Monitor editorial calendars and recommend opportunities to raise the firm's visibility.
  • Write press releases, pitches, articles, and other communications materials.
  • Build and maintain media contact lists.
  • Attend practice group meetings to identify and discuss PR opportunities.
  • Work closely with external PR agencies to ensure activities meet firmwide objectives.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Degree level educated, with an emphasis on English, communications, or similar.
  • 4-5 years of relevant PR/communication experience, ideally within a large law firm or legal PR agency.
  • Significant UK media contacts, including legal media, national, and practice trade media.
  • Excellent organisation skills and ability to multitask efficiently.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to deal with complex subject matter, preferably legal.
  • Highly motivated, collaborative, and proactive approach.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with PR tools, media databases, and social media channels, including LinkedIn.
