Job description

Your new role

  1. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day overall management of the finance function.

  2. Management of and mentor a small team of 3 – Finance Manager, Financial Accountant and Finance Business Partner.

  3. Ensuring the integrity of the financial accounting systems and financial reports.

  4. Identifying improvements to existing processes, creating efficiencies by developing MI tools.

  5. Reviewing of cash flow forecasts, working capital management and reporting.

  6. Ensuring the appropriate KPI reporting and targets are in place.

  7. Ensuring monthly dashboards are reported accurately and on time with excellent commentary for key stakeholders.

  8. Ensuring the company complies with Group, Accounting Standards, and UK Companies Act reporting requirements.

  9. Take the lead and be the principal point of contact for auditors.

  10. Effectively dealing with all matters in connection with internal and external audit and ensuring that all audit requirements and audit points (financial and control related) are dealt with effectively.

  11. Planning team deadlines, ensuring the month-end process is delivered on time and accurately.

  12. Performing first line review and oversight of consolidated re-forecasts and budget submissions ready for review and sign off by the FD, and co-ordinate completion of group reporting packs.

  13. Ensuring that all authorisation processes are complied with for financial transactions.

  14. Working to deliver one-off improvement projects with the Finance Director.

  15. Providing oversight and ensuring accurate delivery of all necessary external reporting requirements.

  16. Completion of all statutory financial returns (incl. VAT, Corporation tax, ONS).

What you'll need to succeed

  1. Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA.

  2. Extensive experience in an FC capacity.

  3. Self-motivated, organised, committed, proactive and results-driven.

  4. Work well with stakeholders, building effective relationships.

  5. Strong leadership skills.

  6. Excellent communication skills.

  7. Proficiency in financial modelling and forecasting.

  8. Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to interpret financial data and make decisions and recommendations.

  9. Contracting business experience (not essential).
