Job Title: Finance Assistant

Location: Cardiff

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Monday – Friday (8:00am to 4:00pm or 9:00am to 5:00pm)

As their business continues to grow, they are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support their financial operations and ensure the smooth functioning of their dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Role overview:

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Finance Assistant to join a thriving team within the aviation industry. This role is essential in maintaining the accuracy and compliance of financial records while supporting key financial operations that drive the business forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and updating financial records with a focus on precision and compliance.
  • Processing accounts payable, including handling invoices and payments.
  • Reconciling bank statements and ensuring accurate transaction records.
  • Preparing monthly financial reports to support informed decision-making by management.
  • Processing and posting monthly journals, such as payroll, depreciation, prepayments, and accruals.
  • Assisting with year-end financial audits by providing required documentation.
  • Collaborating with various departments to gather and analyse financial data.
  • Raising and reconciling sales invoices to ensure accuracy by month-end.
  • Supporting stock reviews and reconciliations in coordination with operational teams.
  • Contributing to ad hoc financial projects as required.
  • Utilising accounting software, such as Sage, to enhance and streamline financial processes.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proficiency in Sage or equivalent accounting software.
  • A strong understanding of accounts payable and financial reporting processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A team-focused approach alongside the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
