Job Summary:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident individual to join our small finance team of 5. The successful candidate will have had experience working in a fast-paced environment, have the ability to manage competing priorities, be proactive and maintain a friendly, professional manner. Excellent IT and communication skills are essential.

Job Description:

As Finance Assistant, you will be managing our accounts payable process from end to end from approving new suppliers to managing the timely payment of suppliers. The role has a strong financial focus and is aimed at an individual who has started on the path to a financial qualification and is keen to quickly develop and progress. This role reports to the Management Accountant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the purchase order process and ensure approvals comply with the authorisation matrix
  • Booking supplier bills to Netsuite
  • Providing remittance advice to Suppliers
  • Managing the timely payment of Suppliers
  • Maintaining good relationships with suppliers, managing supplier queries & checking supplier statements
  • Procurement and ensuring compliance with procurement policies
  • Keeping the supplier database updated
  • Keeping accurate records of supplier contracts
  • Reconciling bank statements

Knowledge and Skills required:

  • A financial qualification, or be studying towards one (AAT, ACCA, CIMA etc)
  • Previous experience in a finance team is essential
  • Strong organisational abilities, experience of working to tight deadlines with a hands-on approach
  • Attention to detail
  • Intermediate user of Excel
  • Tech savvy with experience of using IT system (training on our system will be provided)
  • A basic understanding of purchase to pay processes and accrual accounting would be beneficial

The company operates on a hybrid basis with a minimum of one day (Wednesday) in the office. Our office is based in Central Bristol, parking is not provided.
