Ancala Water Services is a private utilities company providing clean and wastewater services to over 1,000 Ministry of Defence establishments across England and Wales. Our aim is to revolutionise the operation of the water services industry, but we need top talent to help us achieve this. We're proud of our positive culture which is built on trust, respect and teamwork so if this role fits with your skill and experience, we'd love to hear from you!

As part of our essential front-line operations service, you'll be joining a collaborative and dynamic team that is responsible for ensuring that our networks run as calmly and efficiently as possible. This is a pivotal role where you will help reduce the overall cost of water charges by accounting for all water consumed, as well as reducing water that is bought, but not sold, on site. This is achieved through using a range of leakage detection methods and to monitor, minimise and record water performance. You will use your industry experience to problem solve and identify areas for improvement across your region and work collaboratively with the wider business.

This is a field-based role mainly within Hampshire where you'll be working alone and as part of a team. Candidates will ideally be based around Portsmouth or Southampton to give you a good base for attending our various sites and minimising travel time.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Accounting for 100% of water supply on to each of our sites and identifying leakage events.
  • Carrying out reactive and proactive leak detection on MOD sites and monitor the leakage system and collecting data.
  • Recording relevant site data and feeding this information back to the demand management team.
  • Installing and maintaining flow and pressure data logging equipment.
  • Ensure that all relevant site data is captured through detailed on-site investigations.
  • Escalating areas of risk to the wider business such as water quality issues, supply risks or H&S concerns.
What You'll Bring
  • Knowledge of water supply configurations and hydraulics by using site plans and schematics.
  • Knowledge of specialist leakage detection equipment such as correlators, cat and genny, acoustic logging and ground-mics.
  • Extensive technical expertise in all methods used to account for consumption and leakage.
  • Knowledge of testing and inspecting fire hydrants and configuring pressure and flow loggers (training will be given).
  • Good problem-solving, communication and mobile device IT skills.
  • The ability to build and develop strong relationships at all levels with both internal and external contacts.
  • A good understanding of health and safety within an industrial setting.
  • A commercial awareness to understand the cost impact on the business when making decisions.
  • You will be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
About You

Due to the nature of sites on which we operate, the successful candidate must:

  • Meet the security clearance requirements for the role which includes, but is not limited to, the successful candidate being a full-time resident of the UK for the past 5 years.
  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance which involves a Criminal Record Check and a full MoD Security Application and associated verification processes.
  • You must have a full, valid driving licence and be comfortable driving a van (company van provided).

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and Ancala Water Services reserves the right to close the advert earlier than advertised. If you have any questions, please contact us.
