Financial Controller Salary DOE + Car + Bonus Based in Stoke Hybrid Working
Your new role
- You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day overall management of the finance function.
- Management of and mentor a small team of 3 - Finance Manager, Financial Accountant and Finance Business Partner.
- Ensuring the integrity of the financial accounting systems and financial reports.
- Identifying improvements to existing processes, creating efficiencies by developing MI tools.
- Reviewing of cash flow forecasts, working capital management and reporting.
- Ensuring the appropriate KPI reporting and targets are in place.
- Ensuring monthly dashboards are reported accurately and on time with excellent commentary for key stakeholders.
- Ensuring the company complies with Group, Accounting Standards, and UK Companies Act reporting requirements.
- Take the lead and be the principal point of contact for auditors.
- Effectively dealing with all matters in connection with internal and external audit and ensuring that all audit requirements and audit points (financial and control related) are dealt with effectively.
- Planning team deadlines, ensuring the month-end process is delivered on time and accurately.
- Performing first line review and oversight of consolidated re-forecasts and budget submissions ready for review and sign off by the FD, and co-ordinate completion of group reporting packs.
- Ensuring that all authorisation processes are complied with for financial transactions.
- Working to deliver one-off improvement projects with the Finance Director.
- Providing oversight and ensuring accurate delivery of all necessary external reporting requirements.
- Completion of all statutory financial returns (incl. VAT, Corporation tax, ONS).
What you'll need to succeed- Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
- Extensive experience in an FC capacity.
- Self-motivated, organised, committed, proactive and results-driven.
- Work well with stakeholders, building effective relationships.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial modelling and forecasting.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to interpret financial data and make decisions and recommendations.
- Contracting business experience (not essential).
