Business Developer- Dosing & Disinfection UK&I

As the Business Developer, you will be the subject matter expert in Dosing and Disinfection (D&D) and will be responsible for developing the share of wallet within D&D. This role involves managing customer accounts, developing new customers, and upskilling the area sales resources through tandem visits, training, and coaching.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Management: Oversee dosing and disinfection services for existing clients while expanding the customer base.
  2. Financial Oversight: Manage the budget and ensure profitability for D&D within your designated area.
  3. Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategies to increase market share within the D&D sector.
  4. Support Services: Provide both commercial and technical support for D&D products.
  5. Team Development: Train and mentor the sales team to enhance their account management skills.
  6. Market Analysis: Collect and analyse market intelligence to offer valuable insights to the business.
  7. Sales Execution: Secure sales for large-scale opportunities involving D&D products.
  8. Marketing Representation: Represent the area in D&D marketing activities and new product launches.
  9. Network Participation: Actively engage and contribute to the D&D network across Europe.
  10. Additional Tasks: Perform other ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed.

The role has national responsibility and requires travel, approximately 50-60% of the time, both locally and internationally.

Key Success Factors:

  1. Sales Growth: Achieve significant sales growth in the Dosing and Disinfection sector within the designated area.
  2. Customer Portfolio Expansion: Increase sales to existing customers and expand the customer portfolio.
  3. New Customer Development: Identify and develop sales opportunities with new customers.
  4. Knowledge Enhancement: Improve expertise and skills in the area through comprehensive training and coaching.
  5. Sustainability Leadership: Promote and drive the sustainability agenda through our D&D product range.

What are we looking for?

  1. Extensive Experience: At least 5+ years of relevant experience in a technical sales role.
  2. Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Water Treatment.
  3. Industry Expertise: Experience with leading companies in the water treatment industry.
  4. Business Development: Experience in business development (preferred).
  5. Product Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of digital dosing or chemical dosing products.
  6. Market Familiarity: Familiarity with key companies and product types in the dosing and disinfection market.
  7. Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
  8. Proven Sales Record: Demonstrated success in value selling within the Dosing and Disinfection sector.

The ideal candidate is resilient, determined, and highly collaborative, achieving results through teamwork. Adaptable and eager to tackle new challenges, they are competitive and results-driven. They possess the ability to analyse and understand complex industrial applications and processes and have excellent communication and persuasive skills. Additionally, they are proficient in training both internal sales colleagues and customers. Fluency in English is required; additional languages would be a bonus.
