Salary: Up to £60,000 dependant on qualifications and experience

The role:

This role leads the development and delivery of the organisational fire strategy and associated plans.

You will be responsible for:

Safeguarding people’s lives and station infrastructure by planning, formulating, implementing, and supervising fire safety plans that take care of fire and life safety systems.
Maintaining and implementing the Fire Safety Policy, undertaking Fire Risk Assessments, investigations and audit and associated compliance and audit activities.
Providing support and advice across the business to ensure compliance with fire legislation and industry standards.
Working collaboratively with the Learning and development team to establish a robust programme of fire training and associated competencies.
Adopting a business partnering function across the business promoting collaborative working and providing necessary Information, guidance and support.

Experience and qualifications required:

Be a passionate people person, someone who can influence for the positive outcome.
Good numerical and analytical skills.
Must possess in-depth knowledge of relevant fire safety legislation including a good understanding of active and passive fire protection.
CDM Regulations knowledge is desirable.
Knowledge of Rail Industry and Network Rail standards advantageous.
A degree in environmental safety or any other related discipline is advantageous.
Fire risk assessment qualification.
Well organised and ability to prioritise workloads.
Excellent communication skills on all fronts (speaking, writing, and listening).
