Are you working in healthcare, and looking for a change? If you’re a nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD), occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or paramedic, you could use your skills differently as a Functional Assessor.
Our client provides unbiased, comprehensive assessments for claimants of the Government’s disability allowance (Personal Independence Payment), over the phone or at one of our assessment centres. We’re looking for people with the compassion and experience to understand our claimants’ health conditions/disabilities and how they impact their lives. We need people who can balance that with great computer skills, impartiality, and strong time management.
Day to Day
You will be conducting initial paper-based reviews to evaluate how a claimant’s health condition or disability affects their day-to-day life.
Our client's model means you’ll be based entirely at home for the first twelve months and assigned to work from your nearest office after that on a rota basis. You’ll spend additional time in our centres or office locations to catch up with your manager and wider team or attend in-person training sessions.
Our Offer
It’s a challenging role and can be quite different from other healthcare professions, which is why our client takes your training and development seriously. You’ll begin with a 7-week training programme (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm) with time set aside for self-development learning.
The first six months can be the most difficult, so we’ll be there to support you, with close mentorship provided as you work on your ongoing development. The salary starts at £37,500 per annum.
