Emergency Planning Assistant(s)
This is an exciting opportunity to join Gloucestershire County Council’s Emergency Planning Team. We are seeking to appoint individuals who are committed, enthusiastic and highly motivated to work as part of a small team to deliver all aspects of emergency planning and business continuity management.
There are two Emergency Planning Assistant vacancies in the team, which are full time, permanent positions.
The salary structure supports career progression with a starting salary at grade 5 (£27,269 - £28,624) and advancing to grade 6 (£29,093 - £31,586) as you develop your skills and gain experience. Candidates that already are deemed to have developing skills and previous experience will be considered at a starting salary of grade 6.
About The Team & Role
The team is responsible for ensuring that the council has organisational preparedness to deal effectively with a range of possible emergencies, working closely with key internal and external stakeholders to provide resilience to the county of Gloucestershire.
As a member of the team, your role will be to support the day-to-day delivery of emergency and business continuity management for the council. Your responsibilities will include supporting officers to prepare and maintain emergency plans; design and deliver training and exercises; provide business continuity advice and guidance; support the response to emergencies and provide some administrative support such as minute taking and data management.
About You
To be successful, you should have a keen interest in emergency planning and business continuity management and an enthusiasm for learning and continual professional development.
Ideally, you will have excellent IT skills, strong written and verbal communication skills and good interpersonal skills. We also need you to be self-motivated and able to work under your own initiative, whilst also being a good team player.
