An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to lead an innovative heritage project aimed at empowering young people. This role involves supporting a team of Heritage Producers in delivering creative activities that celebrate local culture and history. The successful candidate will coordinate with various partners to ensure effective project management and community engagement. In 2025 Rotherham has become the world’s first Children’s Capital of Culture, designed and delivered by local children and young people aged 0-to-25. This ambitious initiative is a game changer for the borough: a spectacular Festival Year that will create positive and long-lasting change for communities across Rotherham.
Children’s Capital of Culture have applied to the National Heritage Lottery Fund (NLHF) to deliver a brand-new borough-wide heritage project: You’re Not From New York City, You’re From Rov’rum.
This project will recruit 25 x 16-to-25-year-olds to become ‘Heritage Producers’. Our Heritage Producers will work across each of Rotherham’s 25 wards to plan and run events and activities that celebrate and document local communities’ culture, stories and heritage.

The Project Manager will have a key role in delivering the You’re Not From New York City, You’re From Rov’rum project. They will:
Do you have experience of delivering quality skills and talent development projects for young people, and are passionate about co-production and youth voice? Are you an experienced and organised project manager, able to nurture positive working relationships with diverse partners? Are you excited about being part of a creative and committed staff team that’s making amazing things happen in Rotherham? Then we would like to hear from you!
