Job description

We are looking to recruit a Facilities Assistant (Domestic) to work on Hollingworth Ward at the Birch Hill Hospital.


Working hours: 07.00 - 13.00, 5 days over 7 on a rota basis which includes weekend working.


The postholder will be a member of the Trust’s Facilities team and will provide a comprehensive cleaning service for Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust (PCFT). The Facilities Assistant (Domestic) will work across the Trust’s in-patient and/or community settings as assigned, which may include working on wards, clinics, or admin areas.


Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out tasks in line with Trust policy, national cleaning standards, and local instruction.
  2. Ensure that infection control, COSHH, and health and safety procedures are always followed.
  3. Follow the cleaning schedules that have been provided for each area to ensure the areas achieve the required levels of cleanliness at all times.
  4. Report any incidents or near misses as per Trust policy.
  5. Ensure that cleaning equipment and machinery is stored correctly and left in a clean condition and report any defects to the supervisor.
  6. Dispose of all categories of waste safely and in accordance with Trust guidelines.
  7. Undertake any other reasonable duty appropriate to the band when requested by Senior Staff.
  8. Familiarize yourself with and comply with all Trust policies & procedures.
  9. Attend mandatory training and other training as required, which includes fire safety training, moving and handling training, and infection control training.
  10. Work as part of the team to ensure cleaning tasks are completed in all areas.
  11. Carry out other reasonable duties as required by the supervisors.

The postholder will be joining the facilities team within the Capital Investment and Estates Services department at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust.
