Senior Buyer

* Purchasing position responsible for procuring parts and indirect sourcing.

* Would suit someone who is strategic in nature and has experience in developing a strategic commodity plan that has helped deliver value and reduce risk.

We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Buyer to drive both direct and indirect purchasing activities. Ideally, you will be used to working within an engineering/manufacturing environment and have excellent relationship building skills with suppliers. Development opportunities are available within this role.

Salary & Package: c£50,000 to £55,000 per annum basic as a guide. Holidays taken in hours that rises with service - higher degree of flexibility, equivalent to 25 days + bank holidays. This Senior Buyer job will suit:

1. Someone with material sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment.
2. Experienced in developing a procurement strategy.
3. Strong communicator and capable of developing supplier relationships. Managing supplier on time/in full delivery performance.
4. Someone who has worked within a global engineering business.
5. Hold a degree qualification (or equivalent).
6. Ideally hold a MCIPS qualification (or working towards) and be keen to develop in general.

The Senior Buyer job will involve:

1. Ensure the most cost effective and efficient inflow of spares and services within the business.
2. Dealing with a global supplier base, you will be responsible for on boarding, evaluating and assessing supplier suitability/quality/performance.
3. Building strong relationships with suppliers in order to maximize performance.
4. Supporting the development of a team of Buyers whilst being accountable and responsible for Direct and Indirect Procurement.
