Job description

ABOUT US

SIENNA has been running for the last year and a half, opened on a lovely spot by the river in Deptford / Greenwich. The main aim of the coffee shop has been to provide a relaxing and tranquil space for people to enjoy coffee, pastries, cakes and a simple food menu. We have a lovely diverse demographic and a large portion of the customers are regulars, so the café has a great community feel.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The aim of this new position is to really be the ‘right-hand man’ to the owner/manager, helping to share the daily duties and responsibilities, predominantly being there on the days the owner is not. We are looking for someone to really trust and ensure that the daily operations run smoothly and quality is upheld, someone to help create a lovely working environment for all.

This position is part time – 25 hours per week, split over 3 days (Monday, Friday & Saturday – potentially different weekdays can be discussed, except Saturday which will be required as one of the working days). The role would work really well for someone living locally, that already has another part time income.

Please only apply for this position if you are also a fully trained barista and able to make speciality coffee from day 1.

The aim is to start the w/c 21st April but there is potential flexibility on this.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Contribute to daily operations, maintaining efficiency and serving customers
  2. Attention to detail for coffee & food presentation, as well as keeping the space clean & tidy
  3. Making and serving great quality, consistent coffee for take-away & sit-in customers
  4. Preparation of simple food – sandwiches & similar each morning (and often topping up during the day).
  5. Oversee inventory and assist with daily / weekly ordering
  6. Supervising the staff on shift and maintaining an efficient, calm and pleasant working environment

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  1. 2 years experience working in a coffee shop
  2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  3. Attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to be flexible
  4. Organisational skills
  5. Excellent time management skills and ability to delegate
  6. Team player with ability to motivate yourself and others
  7. Ability to keep calm under pressure
  8. Knowledge and good experience in the hospitality industry

BENEFITS

  1. 1 days paid holiday accrued each month
  2. Unlimited hot drinks available on shift and lunch provided
  3. Wholesale price on all coffee bags
