It is important work that impacts every industry in the country and is taken on two set days every month - always a Monday and Tuesday - with the potential for a short collection on a Friday in some areas.

CPI Collectors work approximately 12-15 hours over these two set days per month; it may take longer to begin with while you are learning store layouts.

If you are over 18, have a vehicle & a valid UK driving licence, and want to earn money whilst visiting shops - then this is the role for you!

From April 2024: £13.44 per hour (£12.00 per hour + £1.44 holiday pay) outside London, plus travel expenses.

We will provide you with comprehensive fully-paid training to set you up for success in the role.

Job Opportunity

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is the Government Department responsible for producing the Consumer Prices Index (CPI), the most used measure of inflation in the UK economy; including the amount benefits, pensions, etc. are uplifted each year. Collectors from Verian collect the prices of goods and services from a wide range of the most-purchased items in over 200 towns and cities across the United Kingdom and the ONS compares how this changes over time.

This is the perfect part-time role for a person looking for a customer service, sales, or administration role - that has existing commitments, childcare, or caring responsibilities looking to supplement their income.

You will attend the same locations for the same items each month; each collection will be between 800 & 1500 items, from 15-20 locations in the location, including:

  • Supermarkets & convenience stores
  • Restaurants & Bars
  • Discount retailers
  • Clothing shops
