Job description

The Failure Analysis Engineer is responsible for identifying the root cause of failure, testing and diagnosing products, monitoring product behavior, writing and sharing reports, drawing conclusions on occurred failures and making recommendations.

General Responsibilities

  • Key participant in the evaluation of the electrical and mechanical characteristics of systems and/or integrated circuits, components, sub-components and systems to determine the cause of failure.
  • Organises the analysis of failure reports and recommends corrective action. Develops methods, processes, procedures and equipment that will improve the failure analysis process and/or reduce failures.
  • Key participant in product returns and conducts product failure analysis.
  • Meet and exceed internal and external Service Level Agreements.
  • Maintain daily productivity/workflow reports.
  • Maintain, review and update process documentation on a regular basis.
  • Key participant in reviewing current processes on a regular basis and implementing new processes as required.
  • Ability to read blueprints, specifications and engineering changes.
Experience / Qualifications
  • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation.
  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results.
  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity.
  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organisation including suppliers and/or external customers.
